Sante Scottsdale is seeking to hire a HIM Director.  The Health Information Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, evaluating and effectively directing the health information associates and program in order to ensure smooth operation of health information and related systems consistent with regulations and established best practices.

Initiate and track Medicare certifications (Medicare Compliance).
Completes ICD-10 coding (if not completed by RAI) extraction, ranking and sequencing.
Conducts daily orders audit per federal/state regulations, ensuring quality of care.
Completes dashboard audits for Medicare compliance per federal/state regulations.
Conducts missing entries audits per Medicare compliance ensuring quality of care per Federal/State regulations.
Conducts Standards of Care audits ensuring quality of care per Federal/State regulations.
Reviews RAC audit tracking/facilitating per Medicare Compliance False Claims Act.
Conducts triple check audits bi-monthly ensuring accurate billing practices and procedures per False Claims Act.
Reconciles therapy ICD-10 codes prior to billing per False Claims Act.
Maintains Discharge Record Log, coordinates schedule for pick up to Iron Mountain storage per HIPAA and Federal/State regulations.
Participates in HIM meetings ensuring ongoing compliance education for direct reports.
Completes new practitioner and new employee set up (HIPAA).
Provides assistance and troubleshoots issues with PCC software.
Responsible for completion of QA reporting per Federal/State regulations.
Conducts weekly UR note audits ensuring Medicare Compliance.
Conducts Appointment audit per state regulations.
Acts as facility HIPAA Compliance Officer and maintains Disclosure Log per HIPAA regulations.
Provides HIPAA training for new hire orientation (if not completed through Health Care Academy) per HIPAA regulations


  • Degree in Health Information Program Management or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent healthcare HIM experience required, prefer experience in skilled living, assisted living, acute/sub-acute rehab environments.  
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience managing Health Information department and training property staff strongly preferred.
  • Must have ICD 10 coding experience in a sub-acute setting.
