Sante Operations is hiring a Medical Insurance Collection Specialist for the Salem Oregon office. This is an office based position and not remote. The Medical Insurance Collection Specialist works a centralized role, supporting all AZ properties and is responsible for all aspects of insurance follow up on accounts 30 days and older. Research and resolve EOB rejections and other issues with outstanding accounts. Follow up on insurance and patient aging. Submit appeals as necessary.
Responsible for all aspects of insurance follow up on accounts 30 days and older, including making telephone calls, accessing payer websites.
Research and resolve EOB rejections.
File insurance appeals as needed.
Accurately and thoroughly document the pertinent collection activity performed.
Work with Medical Biller/AR department to increase clean claim rate.
Initiate telephone or letter contact to patients to obtain additional information as needed.
Proactively identify issues or trending and provide suggestions for resolution.
Process & price SNF CB Claims for external providers.
Back-up/relief for AZ Insurance Medical Billing Specialists as needed
Assist in special projects assigned by management.
A minimum of 3 years previous experience in Commercial and Medicare Collections Required
Responsible for reducing the accounts receivable of insurance balances by working through outstanding AR accounts.
Advanced knowledge of UB-04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) interpretation
Advanced knowledge of insurance billing, collections and insurance terminology.
Able to work quickly, efficiently and independently under deadlines and productivity expectations.
Communicates clearly and professionally via phone and email.
Able to analyzes and problem solve with strong critical thinking skills.
Computer literate with Word, Excel, & Outlook.
Experience with Point Click Care - PCC software a plus, but not required.
